CAN I REGISTER BY MAIL?
No, all registrations must be completed online. However, walk up registrations will be available on race day until 7:30 am
CAN I REGISTER ON RACE DAY?
Yes, you can register on race day until 7:30 am however runner’s swag bag and/or runner’s shirts are on a first come first serve basis for race day registrations.
CAN I CHANGE MY RACE DISTANCE?
Yes, you may change your race distance online through Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 11:59 pm. Click here and on the Bohicket 5K and Half Marathon Race, "Manage Registration" to change your race distance online.
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
The Bohicket Run adheres to standard running industry policy which dictate that registration fees are non-refundable. However, you may transfer your registration to another runner in the same or shorter run distance. Click here and on the Bohicket 5K and Half Marathon Race, click "Manage Registration" to transfer your registration. All transfers must be initiated before November 17, 2024 at 11:59 pm. You may not transfer your number to another runner for any reason without notifying the Bohicket run on the link provided. You may defer your registration by completing a race deferral form. To defer your registration click here and on the Bohicket 5K and Half Marathon Race, "Manage Registration". Please Note: During COVID-19, If the event the is canceled, all participants will have the option to defer to 2024 at no additional charge or elect to run on another date if rescheduled. A refund may be requested subject to a $7 processing fee.
IS THERE A TIME LIMIT FOR THE HALF MARATHON?
Yes, all runners must be cleared from Seabrook Island within 3 hours of the start. Runners finishing after 3:15 may not receive an official time and a finisher’s award.
HOW MANY RUNNERS ARE EXPECTED?
We expect approximately 550 runners in the half marathon and 450 runners in the 5k.
ARE T-SHIRTS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE?
Yes, a long sleeve tri-blend shirt will be available for the first 800 runners to register for the half marathon and 5k
ARE AWARDS BASED ON GUN TIME OR CHIP TIME?
Overall awards are based on gun time and age group awards are based on chip time.
WHAT IF IT RAINS OR THERE IS A BAD WEATHER EVENT?
Both runs will take place rain or shine. There will be no weather-related refunds. However the event may be cancelled if the Race Committee determines the course is unsafe due to poor weather conditions.
ARE WALKERS, STROLLERS OR DOGS ALLOWED?
Walkers and strollers are allowed in the 5k but not in the half marathon. Dogs are not allowed in either race due to Seabrook Island restrictions.
ARE THE COURSES CERTIFIED?
Yes, both the 5k and the half marathon are USATF certified
WILL RACE PACKETS BE MAILED?
Race packets will not be mailed but can be picked up at packet pick-up @ Fleet Feet Mount Pleasant - November 21 - 11:00-6:00 or at Fresh Fields Village on race day
WHERE DO I PARK FOR THE RACES?
Parking will be provided near Fresh Fields Village. Please see parking map an look out for signage when approaching the traffic circle at the end of Betsy Kerrison.
WHAT IS THE COURSE ELEVATION?
The highest course elevation is no more that 5 feet. Both courses are well paved, flat and fast !
CAN I SIGN UP TO BE A VOLUNTEER?
Yes, you can volunteer and receive a Free Beach Bag. Click here to volunteer.
IS THERE A POST RACE CEREMONY?
Yes, there will be a post-race awards ceremony and party on the village green at Fresh Fields near the finish line. There will be an abundance of refreshments, food and snacks including hot dogs, hot chocolate, and cold beer.
WHAT AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN
Every runner will receive a very nice finisher award and there will be additional awards for overall finishers, masters, grand masters and senior grand masters and 3 deep age group awards from 14 and under to 80 and above in 5-year age groups.
WILL THERE BE PACE RUNNERS?
Yes, the half marathon will have pacers for 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00 hour paces
CAN I PICK UP ANOTHER RUNNERS PACKET?
Yes, you may pick up another runner’s packet by providing your ID such as a driver license.
CAN I DROP MY BAG OFF AT THE START / PICK UP AFTER THE RACE?
Yes, you may drop your bag off at the Marina before the start and retrieve it after the race. Both races are out and back so bag pick-up will be at the same location as drop off.
IS THE BOHICKET RUN FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES?
Yes, all proceeds from both runs will go to The Kiawah-Seabrook Exchange Club, the Charleston Animal Society, and the Charleston Running Club. Those organizations support various programs, schools and other non-profit organizations in the local community.
